Description

BATIMIX Air WG8-P is a synthetically produced powder resin used as an air-entraining admixture for shotcrete applied by the wet process applications.

Main Purpose

BATIMIX Air WG8-P is designed to produce air-entrained shotcrete for increased durability and resistance to damage by frost and de-icing salts. It can also be used to improve cohesion and workability when poorly graded aggregates are employed or when bleeding and segregation phenomena may occur.

Features

Shotcrete prepared with BATIMIX Air WG8-P is characterized by the following:

In the plastic state:

• Controlled quantity of evenly distributed microscopic air bubbles
• Enhanced cohesion and resistance to bleeding as less water is used

In the hardened state:

• Increased resistance to attack by sulfate, frost, corrosive water, and de-icing salts
• Reduced absorptivity, as air bubbles act as air plugs
• Limitation of progressive cracks, as air bubbles dissipate energy at their tips
• Improved overall shotcrete durability and surface appearance

From 0.05% to 0.3% of the cementitious materials
